ABOUT US
“A personal approach is integral to being able to get the best results for any job and that starts from the very first phone call or coffee at the hangar. You will always be dealing with myself or Sarah and we consider it a privilege to take on this venture together, in a place we love and a community that has become home.”
Blake Charteris, owner and pilot |
Pilot Blake Charteris has spent more than a decade flying helicopters throughout New Zealand and overseas.
Raised on a sheep and beef station in the hills of Gisborne, he knew from a young age he wanted to be a helicopter pilot in the agricultural industry. Blake completed his theory training at Nelson Aviation College and the practical component at Frontier Helicopters in Whakatane. He has since flown for agricultural and hunting based operations in Rotorua and Taupo as well as spending time flying for tuna boats in the Pacific Ocean. Blake and his wife Sarah moved to Wairoa in 2011 to take up a position at Ashworth Helicopters’ Wairoa base. Blake spent five years as the base manager and pilot before the couple purchased the operation in 2016. Blake and Sarah are excited to be providing a locally owned and operated helicopter service to the Wairoa district, as well as giving their young family the experience of growing up in a close-knit rural community. They pride themselves on offering a friendly and personal service and work hard to ensure clients feel informed and comfortable, every step of the way. |
